THE ROLE
As a Field Application Engineer, you are the technical link between our customers, the sales organization, and internal development teams. The role has a clear customer focus in the parts of the process where the product is tested, solutions are specified, and prototypes are developed. That is when you are most active in customer dialogue— and where you make the biggest impact. At the same time, you work closely internally, especially with the R&D department and product management. You are responsible for clarifying and communicating requirements and technical specifications. You provide support throughout the entire process, both externally and internally.
The role involves identifying technical opportunities, participating in customer evaluations, giving presentations, and ensuring our solutions are integrated effectively. You also contribute technical input to the further development of our products.
The position is based in Stockholm/Sätra.
Travel is required, about one week per month, mainly within Europe, but in some cases travel to, for example, China, Korea, or India may also be relevant.
THE TEAM
You work in close collaboration with both the R&D department and product management and report to the VP of business area XLOEM. You have a central role in translating customer needs into technical solutions; through your technical understanding and communication skills, you create an efficient flow of information between the customer and internal teams.
You will be a key part of strengthening technical customer support—both by taking overall responsibility for the initial dialogue and by ensuring information is handed over in a structured way to internal teams. You will join an experienced, solution-oriented, and helpful environment where your contribution makes a tangible difference.
QUALIFICATIONS
Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent
Basic knowledge of programming in C or C++
5 years of experience in a technical, customer-facing role
Good understanding of electronics, embedded systems, and automation
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and system architecture
Experience in product validation, troubleshooting, and technical documentation
Strong communication skills in English and confident in dialogue with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
Good ability to prioritize and drive multiple processes in parallel
Ability to travel internationally
It is also a plus if you have longer experience from technology-intensive industrial companies or manufacturing operations, especially focused on control systems or OEM solutions. A background in product development, familiarity with industry-specific standards, as well as programming skills or a system-level perspective on machine solutions are also considered meritorious. Additionally, we value other language skills (e.g., French, Spanish, German).
